Julia went to Hong Kong from Germany in 2005 as a purchasing manager for a renowned mail order company. Her work exposed her to the issues of pollution, waste and labour exportation that plague global supply chains.
Julia dedicated herself to finding a better way and discovered the endless benefits of bamboo and launched Bamboa in 2008, which is an established eco-friendly home and lifestyle brand.
While having 2 retail stores in Hong Kong, Bamboa wanted to revamp its online store to reach more audience directly,

Challenges:
▪The original website layout is confusing
▪ There are many product SKUs and the classification is not clear
▪The brand advantage cannot be reflected
▪ The fonts and colors are various, there is no brand sense, it is difficult to build trust with customers

1. Site Restructure
▪ We redesigned the home sections and adjusted the order to present the information to attract the audience to go step by step
▪ We followed the brand guideline and made the branding more consistent throughout the whole site
▪ Organized products into the right collections and made it easier for people to search for what they want






2. Navigation & Filter Optimization
▪ We reorganized the backend products, added tags and made the collections more clear & easy to navigation
▪ Added product filters to enable customers to select product types according to their needs, find the products they need faster, thus improving the customer experience
▪ Displayed "best sellers" on the homepage to attract more customers and reduce the bounce rate
3. Premium Material & Premium Design
▪ The product is a high-end premium product so we needed to ensure the design to match with that. We first resolved the problem of the brand having low pixel image in the original theme
▪ Chose high-end lifestyle pictures as well as premium product images as banners which match the overall branding of the store
▪ Focused on story sharing especially how Julia started the brand to create a sustainable brand from her own life experience
